Removing Disincentives for Living Donors – Is Your Transplant Center Participating?
The National Living Donor Assistance Center (NLDAC), launched 18 months ago, is meeting its goal of lessening the burden of travel and subsistence expenses toward living donation. Over 200 living donors have traveled to their transplant center to donate an organ with NLDAC funding and nearly half of these donors said NLDAC made it possible to donate.

AST Welcomes Joren C. Madsen as New President
Joren C. Madsen, MD, DPhil, will be inducted as the president of the American Society of Transplantation (AST) on Tuesday. Dr. Madsen, who serves as director of Massachusetts General Hospital's (MGH) Transplant Center, Section Chief of Cardiac Surgery at MGH and Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, will serve a one-year term of office.
